Daniel McNeill Meikleham, (CIB, AIIC)
Chairman of the Board, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Meikleham currently is an officer for a Saudi Arabia publicly listed corporation with a market capitalization of one billion USD. He was hired by the Saudi company and located in Dubai, U.A.E., as the CFO in 2005 to convert the 30 year-old company from a private company to become listed on the Saudi stock market. He worked with the IPO team and raised in excess of 500 million USD in 5 days in August 2006. After the successful IPO Mr. Meikleham was retained as the CFO and appointed Secretary to the Board of Directors and personal consultant to the Managing Director. During the three years Mr. Meikleham has been an officer the company increased sales from SR 300 million to SR 1.15 billion with net profits of 20% and return on equity of 25%. Previously, Mr. Meikleham retired from a 28-year career with three major insurance corporations, culminating in seven years with the Prudential Insurance Company of America where he was honored five times as President of the Gibraltar Club as their top national producer. From 1998 to 2000, Mr. Meikleham served as a Co-Founder and Director of a Puerto Rico Venture Capital Fund. Mr. Meikleham was educated at the Central College of Commerce and Distribution in Glasgow, Scotland, where he won the annual national British-wide government competition in mathematics. Mr. Meikleham is a co-creator of the Urban Barns business concept.
Jacob (Jack) Benne
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Benne is a graduate of the Dutch Agricultural College where he graduated in 1960 in the top 5% of the school. Following graduation he joined the army and served his country for two years then entered the Agricultural/Horticultural Industry and has a distinguished career for the last 46 years to date. In August of 1963, Mr. Benne established his first Greenhouse entrepreneurial enterprise in Holland on one half acre and expanded to two and one half acres in six years, a large portion of land by Dutch standards. Mr. Benne’s facility was considered state of the art and a leader in Holland, which is the world leader in the Greenhouse industry. In 1978 Mr. Benne completed a reconstruction of his facility and immigrated to Canada in 1981. On arrival in Canada, and following his success in Holland, Mr. Benne started with an eight-acre Greenhouse facility with a local partner. As the project manager in nine years they grew to a fourteen-acre facility. Following this success Mr. Benne acquired the neighboring property and established Bevo Farms on his own. For the last 23 years he has operated Bevo farms and took it public in 2000 with a listing on the TSX Venture Exchange (bvo.v). Mr. Benne as the President/CEO of Bevo Agro, over the last nine years has built the company into North America’s leading provider of propagated plants, with annual sales in excess of $16,000,000.00 CDN. Mr. Benne brings with him his vast experience and enthusiasm into Urban Barns Foods as the President of operations and is committed to the goal of making Urban Barns Foods Inc. an international leader in the horticulture business.
J. Robyn Jackson
Vice President, Logistics
In 1976 Mr. Jackson founded Robyn's Transportation & Distribution Services Ltd, in Alberta, Canada. For the last 33 years he has served as the President and CEO and built Robyn's Transportation & Distribution Services Ltd, into a niche refrigerated shipper of food and propagated plants, with annual revenues of more than $17,000,000 CDN. Currently Robyn's Transportation ships food products and plants to all Wal-Mart, Sobeys and Canadian Tire stores in Western Canada between Thunder Bay and the Canadian West Coast. They also deliver to Canadian Superstore and Canadian Safeway warehouses all across Western Canada.
Mark Hanson
Director, Chairman of the Audit Committee, Chief Compliance Officer
Mr. Hanson graduated from the University of Auckland, New Zealand with a LLB degree in 1976. He is a qualified barrister and solicitor (New Zealand, United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Australia) with a 22-year career in investment banking specializing in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and structured finance including the formation of investment funds. Mr. Hanson worked in London initially then spent 11 years in Hong Kong followed by two years in Singapore. More recently he worked in Saudi Arabia for three years then moved to be based in Bahrain since January 2007. Initially in Saudi Arabia, he was an adviser to the Deputy Governor of the central bank (SAMA) and then established the investment banking business for ABN AMRO within its Saudi operation (Saudi Hollandi Bank). In Asia he acted in the capacity of Chief Executive of one bank (Bain Securities Limited) and Managing Director (Peregrine Capital Limited) of another. In addition he spent three and half years as Deputy Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. For the last two years Mr. Hanson was Chief Executive of a Bahrain based Islamic Investment Bank (Global Banking Corporation), which is capitalized at US$250 million and is active in private equity, real estate and energy financial services. Mr. Hanson has been involved in Islamic investment banking for a number of years including the structuring of deals, sourcing of transactions and placement of securities to investors in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Oman. He is currently based in Bahrain.
Cesar Montilla, Jr.
Director of Business Development and Government Relations Officer
Mr. Montilla has been the Chief Executive Officer of SPECTRUM Finance Network, an international consulting organization and private capital firm since 2000. He was also President of Ascender Management Services, an SEC registered investment advisory firm, between 2004 and 2007. Previously, he had been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Clark Melvin Securities Corporation from 1990 until the firm’s purchase in 1997 by Samuel Ramirez & Co. Mr Montilla continued to serve as Managing Director of Samuel Ramirez until 1998.
Mr Montilla’s other experience includes President of Kidder Peabody, Puerto Rico Inc., and Managing Director of Merrill Lynch. Prior to 1980, Mr. Montilla was Chairman of the Securities Corporation of Puerto Rico which, at that time, was Puerto Rico's only native investment banking corporation, and an affiliate of the First Boston Corporation. From 1965 to 1973 he was Vice President and stockholder of Blyth, Eastman Dillon and Co.
A native of Puerto Rico, Mr Montilla attended Cornell University, the University of Puerto Rico, the University of Florida in Gainesville, and the New York Institute of Finance in 1965. Mr. Montilla has served on various Boards and Advisory Councils, advising the Puerto Rican Society of Financial Analysts, the Government Development Bank of Puerto Rico, the United States Department of Commerce, Banco Popular de Puerto Rico and the New York Stock Exchange.
Mr. Montilla currently sits on the Boards of GM Capital, HIMA•San Pablo Hospitals; Sofscape Caribe, Opera de Puerto Rico, Inc., “Fondita de Jesus”and is on the Puerto Rico Advisory Board of the United States Army.

Leo Benne
Chief Operations Officer
Mr. Benne is responsible for product choice and quality control and overall training of the "Green Thumb" workers. All local Urban Barn Green Thumbs report directly to Mr. Benne at the International Home Office. Mr. Benne gained advanced knowledge of modern horticultural methods at Rijks Middlebare Tuinbouw School in Holland. With extensive experience in the application of computer technology to the production of healthy, high-yield plants, he has been a key figure in the development of Bevo Agro Ltd. Leo Benne is a hands on vice-president at Bevo Agro Ltd, overseeing ever y stage of the company's operations, from planting to shipping.
Executive Vice President of Human Resource & Administration

If executive managers require additional assistance it will be acquired on a part-time basis through outsourcing and the use of consultants. If we use these consultants, they will most likely be in the areas of Tax & accounting, national marketing & advertising, logistics, and Information Technology.
Kent Douglas
Principal Accounting Officer, Finance Manager
Mr. Douglas, a qualified Chartered Management Accountant, is responsible for Accounting and local bookkeeping at all Urban Barns. All local Urban Barn salesmen and Green Thumbs with respects to bookkeeping report functionally directly to Mr. Douglas at the International Home Office and submit daily summaries and weekly reports.
Evan Meikleham
Treasurer
Mr. Meikleham is a health economist with the Centre for Health Evaluation and Outcome Sciences, associated with the University of British Columbia. He has worked with AEGON USA Investment Management, LLC and the investment division of Constellation Energy, the largest wholesaler of energy in North America. He graduated with High Distinction from the University of Toronto with a degree in Mathematics and holds a master 's degree from Princeton University's Bendheim Center for Finance. His academic awards include the Alumni Association Graduation Award for outstanding Bachelor of Science Degree, University of Toronto.
